kimchihoff Posted March 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Referring to the kind with slacks and a tie, not a bathing suit ;) Just curious...we are new to NCL freestyle cruising and starting to pack. Wondering if my husband or son will need a suit or jacket...thanks!
Philob Posted March 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Totally optional.
Rare KeithJenner Posted March 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2016 No, they don't need either. The dress code is on the NCL website.
Allweneedismoney Posted March 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2016 No but there are nights where there are photographers around the ship taking pictures so if you want a formal picture with you all its a nice memory but really not necessary a nice pair of slacks and a button down will do just fine. Have fun
Cruzinnana47 Posted March 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Not at all. My hubby hasn't packed a suit for years and he is THRILLED about that! The best part of Freestyle is you do not have to dress formally. (Unless you choose to).:D Casual dress is fine for your boys--no suits or sport coats required. Rare KeithJenner Posted March 23, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 23, 2016 I was curious about this also. What is the dress code for the Specialty restaurants? Other than Le Bistro and one of the MDRs, the dress code is the same everywhere.
Allweneedismoney Posted March 23, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Marcanbr the specialty restaurants do have dress codes but it's limited to nice clothes. No beach wear or shorts besides you just spent additional money might as well dress up a little Have fun
EleventyBangBang Posted March 23, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 23, 2016 The fanciest thing I'm bringing is a pair of designer jeans.
LrgPizza Posted March 23, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Marcanbr the specialty restaurants do have dress codes but it's limited to nice clothes. No beach wear or shorts besides you just spent additional money might as well dress up a little Have fun That is such false info. I hate that. Shorts are welcome in all specialty restaurants except Le Bistro, and maybe Ocean Blue or Bayamo.
kdzkatz Posted March 23, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 23, 2016 I have dined in every restaurant on the Jewel and Pearl in blue jeans and a t-shirt with no problems. I don't like to dress up at home so why would I pay good money to dress up on vacation? If you want to dress to the 9's have at it and have fun. But it is definitely not required. :)
