angiem0217 Posted March 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Recently off the Dream and my husband received an offer for a free inside stateroom for an upcoming cruise. It expires in Sept and our anniversary is in October. we were going to do an all inclusive but have decided to take this cruise instead. If you could go on any cruise, which one would you choose? We can cruise out of any port in the US. Looking at going in September. We enjoyed the Dream but it had too many people so I am looking at the smaller ships. Although in Sept it probably won't be as crowded as our Spring Break cruise. What ship would you choose or what itinerary? No kids so was looking at some of the ships that have a pool in serenity. We have been on the Fascination, Triumph, elation, fantasy and the dream. We want to go on a ship we have not been on. Oh yeah and the holiday back in the day. We have been to Cozumel, progresso, Nassua, half moon cay, Montego Bay and grand Cayman. Would like to go somewhere we have never been. Except I would not mind going to half moon cay again. It was beautiful. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Edited March 23, 2016 by angiem0217
kgb46 Posted March 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2016 They have a 7 day Canada cruise out of New York on the Sunshine. Beautiful 3 level Serenity area with a pool and waterfall. Hot tub at the top of the waterfall. Some people don't like it but I loved the Sunshine. It has the 2.0 upgrades. Only disadvantage was the comedy show because the lounge is too small. You need to get there at least 45 minutes before start time.
kgb46 Posted March 23, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Back that up. I just read on another thread that when it goes to dry dock in May they could be making the comedy lounge larger.
KatPem Posted March 23, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 23, 2016 We received a similar offer on our spring break cruise last year...just know that you can call and upgrade if you would rather have a different class of room. We booked an aft cabin for an extra $550 including the taxes that we would have had to pay anyway (you must pay port fees and taxes on the 'free' room). Hands down I would recommend cruising out of Puerto Rico. Not sure which ship is on this itinerary but the best itinerary in my opinion starts in Puerto Rico, has stops at St Thomas, St Kitts, St Lucia, Barbados and St Maarten. We had done this itinerary for spring break and chose to do it again for our free one! I would go again in a heartbeat but we are trying new ports this next time. If you do choose this, I HIGHLY recommend Calabazas in Barbados. It is a Catamaran trip, limited to 12 people, you get to swim with sea turtles and snorkel another stop. It is one of the best excursions we have ever been on. St Lucia's Land, Sea and Beach tour through Spencer Ambrose is a close second!
doneinne Posted March 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Look and see if it included Alaska. My first casino offer did.
Rare Wanna_Cruize Posted March 23, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) Also, if you upgrade your free inside cabin, it becomes a 'revenue' booking, so you get credit for the sea nights toward your next loyalty level. We booked our latest casino offer to a balcony cabin for our upcoming Alaska cruise. Screaming deal that we couldn't say 'no' to. lowroller Posted March 23, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Not knowing what you like, but what I like, I would go with the St. Maarten, St. Kitts, San Juan and Grand Turk cruise. But I'm a beach person :-) Cruising after Labor day should have less children on the ship too. I'd pass on anything that stopped at Nassau, Freeport or St. Thomas Also I agree with the poster that mentioned upgrading to a balcony!
Heirloom Posted March 23, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 23, 2016 Recommend Pride or Miracle. Best ships in fleet IMHO.

I booked the Sunshine Aug 25th to Sept 3rd (9 day) journey cruise . They gave me a spa inside cabin which was included with the offer. I paid total $386 for 2 of us (taxes, port fees). The cruise to book right now is $3200 for the same room if I just booked off the website . I have been on 16 cruises but never the Sunshine . I was on it when it was the Destiny years ago . I am looking forward to it . Hope this helps . Just look around until you find what you are looking for . You have 2 weeks to book it . THe sunshine is a beautiful ship and the serenity area looks great plus it is going to ports I have not gone to in a long time .
angiem0217 Posted March 23, 2016 Author #10 Share Posted March 23, 2016 (edited) I just called and there are no Alaska itineraries available for the month I can travel. I really wanted to do an Alaskan cruise. I am looking at some of the southern Caribbean ones. I would love to go on the sunshine or one of the ships with a pool in serenity. Thanks for all of your input! Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app Edited March 23, 2016 by angiem0217

Taters Posted March 23, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 23, 2016 I would also recommend the Pride or Miracle, as this is my favorite class of Carnival ship! Two pools forward, Serenity pool aft, doesn't feel crowded.
angiem0217 Posted March 23, 2016 Author #13 Share Posted March 23, 2016 We have decided to sail out of port canaveral. The flights were the best deal. Can choose 8 day on valor that goes to grand Turk, st Maarten, st Kitts and San Juan or grand Turk, Aruba and Curaçao. Or 7 nights in the Magic that goes to grand Turk, amber cove, San Juan and st Thomas. Anyone done these and which one did you like more. cruznduo Posted March 24, 2016 #20 Share Posted March 24, 2016 For those of you who have gotten the free cruise offer, is it listed under the "Manage My VIFP" offers? I have gotten offers for casino rates and we are using one for our April 16th cruise. I want to make sure that I am looking in the right place if we are ever lucky enough to get a freebie! Thanks! No it was not. They gave hubby a letter on our last day with a code. I had to call an 800 number to see what cruises we could get. angiem0217 Posted March 24, 2016 Author #23 Share Posted March 24, 2016 Check out the glory out of Miami sept 3rd. That's the one we may be booking. Excellent itenerary. I looked at that cruise and almost booked it. But flights to Miami were almost double what I can fly to Orlando for. So I booked the magic and upgraded to a spa balcony for cheaper than I could have got the free inside cabin on glory when I factored in cost of flights. Plus an extra day at Disney pre cruise was a plus too. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
cruznduo Posted March 25, 2016 #24 Share Posted March 25, 2016 Thanks, Angiemom! I didn't realize you had to personally given a letter for the free cruise. Has anyone else found out about theirs in a different way?
