Le Meridien Tahiti

Well, we just got back yesterday from our 2 1/2 weeks in paradise. We were 5 days pre-cruise at Le Meridien Tahiti, and for those interested, it was great. Our over water bungalow was amazing, although there are no steps down to the lagoon from it. We just went in on the beach instead, which was ok because the coral is so close and abundant by the bungalows that you'd have a hard time finding a place to get in without landing on the coral.

The food at the hotel is great, although very expensive. We ate a few times a great little place right next door called Le Cigalon. They have a more formal restaurant, as well as a great snack stand called Paicific Burger that sells 13 different burgers, hot dogs, pizza, etc. And all was very reasonably priced for FP. Just ask to have your burgers "well done" as they can come a little under cooked.

We did see the Friday night Polynesian dance extravaganza that the hotel puts on, and it is well worth the $70 each. There is great traditional polynesian dancing, as well as a huge buffet that will satisfy even the pickiest eaters.

All in all, I would recommend Le Meridien for either a pre or post cruise stay. They have a nice location, close to banks, grocery store and little plaza, as well as car rentals right at the hotel desk. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, and the room was always clean and neat. :)

We miss it already!
