The Pentagon and US State Department has ordered the families of military and diplomats stationed in Turkey to leave the country.

Anyone on a cruise with an itinerary with stops in Turkey might want to follow up on what this decision will mean for your cruise.

When the itineraries come out for 2017, I would be surprised to see Turkish ports..but who knows. Istanbul is a long way from the area the covered by the warning, but the warning does mention an increased threat throughout Turkey. It will be interesting to see what the few cruise lines that stuck with Turkey will do now. Celebrity comes to mind, as they still have a ship doing a disembark/embarkation in Istanbul.

The NCL group, making the changes early, were probably able to secure better alternative itineraries, without last the minute fire drills.

Just getting worse, last week or two more bombings in tourist areas. Cruise lines smart to stay away from these places.
