own tour from naples

is it possible to do a tour on your own from Naples? We want to visit Positana in May preferably on our own, not with a guide. There are four adults. Has anyone ever done this on their own?

When we docked at Naples walked across the parking lot to the newstand on the other side of the street. Bought a trolley ticket that took us to the train station.The person in the newstand told us what trolley to get on. Got on the train and stopped in Pompeli and then took the train to Sorrento. From Sorrento we took the Hydrofoil right back to the dock. Great fun and easy.
