La Sagrade on Sunday

What impact or difference is there on a Sunday with people attending mass? I want to visit but am concerned we will not be allowed in areas because of a mass being offered. On a Sunday, is it still best to go early or would it be better to go mid-day? We will be there on May 1.

There is no regular Sunday mass at the Sagrada Família. They only do special occasion masses once every month or so. Unfortunately they do not have the 2016 calendar on their website, but I doubt there will be a mass in the Basilica on May 1, since that is a non-religious holiday, and there will be other sorts of things going on in town (Labor Day marches).

Mass is celebrated every day in the parish church in the crypt of the Basilica. You are welcome to attend those services (they are in Catalan and Spanish), but otherwise they do not have any effect on tourists visiting the Basilica.
