Who cut off the whale tail. the old Carnival Celebration is currently sailing two day cruises out of Port of Palm Beach as the Bahamas Celebration and she still had the whale tail, although painted a different color.

I cruised on the Jubilee 6 times from 1989 to 1996. Had a great time. The ship was transferred to P&O Australia where she was renamed the Pacific Sun where she is cruising now. She was changed to the P&O colours and smokestack design.

Remembering childhood and dad getting a styrofoam Kool Cigarette sailboat he fiber glassed the bottom..we had a hilarious champagne party in the driveway {do NOT crack bottle on boat} and had many a good time sailing on small Montana mountain lakes in early family days...he had to have smoking friends save the coupons. 2 people at a time.

This would be so cool if some real original Carnival's cruising people could afford to do it and upgrade to their liking and management..The Ex Carnival World cruisers.

My first cruise was on her just a few days shy of 15 years ago on 4/16/2001. I thought she was HUGE! :)

So sad I didn't sail her or one of her sisters before they were all sold off.

I'll be retiring in a couple of year and want to move, so you can count me in!! I don't qualify to purchase a cabin on The World, so old Jubilee will have to do.

In fact, I'd be delighted to live on her permanently!

What is the value of 47,000 tons of scrap steel anyway?

I get $0.05 per pound in CDN$$ at my local scrapyard when I send in material.

The math says:

47,000 tons X 2,000 lbs/ton=94,000,000 lbs

94,000,000 lbs X $0.05 per lb= $4,700,000

$4,700,000 CDN = $3,618,028.84 US at today's rate

So she's worth 10X more whole than scrap.

OMG !!! Just remember that we did cruise the celebration as "free" cruise.

We got to our room and it was tiny tiny. And bunk beds; No TV's LMAO:D

Went to guest service and begged for another cabin. They did give us one

My DS and his best friend (best friend never been on a cruise either) got the same room... no tv, bunk beds too.

The pool looked like one of those tank pools...

International buffet (they called it..) shows weren't too bad.

Just a short trip the the Bahama and back.

Had a great time... seems the less you have the more appreciated you are.

We still talk about it.
