Spanish National Holiday on Oct 12/16

We will be staying in Barcelona post cruise on Oct 12th. This is a national holiday..Hispanic Day.. and have read that tourist attractions, shops and businesses will be closed and buses run on reduced schedules. Has any one else been in Barcelona on this holiday? Will there be anything opened? I'm assuming that there will be some restaurants/bars open. Thanks for any info.

All bars and restaurants will be open but will be busy.

"Hispanic Day"?? LOL! It used to be Christopher Columbus Day! I guess PC mania has hit Spain also!

Ok good to know that. We will be coming from Paris to Barcelona by train on Oct 12 so maybe we should spend the morning in Paris and take an afternoon train. Thanks for the info on the Holiday. I missed that.
