Costa Maya Warning !!!!

Just back from Miracle this morning...Great Cruise..But one problem in Costa Maya..Native Sons tours is having a problem with the local authorites/unions.We rushed off the ship only to sit around for at least two hours because the authorities wanted to put everyone in taxi's instead of their bus. By the time a bus finally left there was not enough time for our tour.

Sorry about your experience in Costa Maya. This is another reason to book tours thru the cruise line. I know they cost a little more, but you only have to worry about the weather. May your next tour be a lot easier for you.

I booked 2 of my 4 excursions last year on my own. And, of course, due to a hurricane our itinerary was reversed. So we did the cruise 'backwards", meaning we went to all our ports, but on different days than scheduled. This announcement was not made until we were already on the ship. We (along with everyone else who booked on their own) hurried and scurried down to the excursion desk to try and book something last minute. What a hassle! We did get to do the excursions we wanted (at twice the cost)!

 

Lucky for me, because I read these boards I knew to book only with operators who would refund my money if the ship can't stop on the scheduled day. I got all my money back. On Valor this year, I booked everything through the ship. I am still debating what to do for my Destiny cruise next year.
