Sting Ray Excursion for non-swimmer

Hi there... we were thinking of doing the sting ray excursion in Cozumel, but from what I've read, some of it is in deep water. One person in our party isn't comfortable in deep water. Would it still be worthwhile for them to do this excursion? I know they supply life vests.

Most of the water is about waist to chest height. Every once in a while, there is a wave that is higher but if they are an adult no problem. My kids were 3,5,7 when I went. We carried them for most part though.
