Tips, secrets, hidden areas? Escape

There are sticky threads on the Carnival page dedicated to secrets and tips, things like the hidden doors leading to the forward decks near the bridge. Is there any such information available for Escape? Does anyone have any secrets to share?

Yes, the lines (especially for omelettes in the morning) are always shorter towards the back.

There is a crepe station sometimes all the way at the aft.

Push the elevator buttons on both sides of the elevator bank.

If you need to do laundry, wait until Tuesday for the "all you can fit in the bag for $19.99" special.

If you have kids and they earn tickets for prizes from the arcade throughout the week, make sure they redeem them before the last night. The last night has lots of kids trying to redeem hundreds or thousands of tickets and there are only two redemption machines.

Make sure you spend an evening or two with Beau at the District Brew House. He is the best entertainer on the ship.

Hang a towel or two over the rod in the clothes closet, so that when the clothes hangers sway and bump into the closet (they will!) the sound is muffled.

Bring a travel clock if you aren't going to rely on your phone. No clocks in the staterooms.

Bring a booklight. The reading light next to the bed is too bright, and when my wife and kids went to sleep, it was fantastic.

I'm not aware of any secret doors like on some Carnival ships.

We had a balcony cabin with the bed near the balcony. There was an USB outlet near the bed light on the side. Super handy. We used the Iconcierage app to communicate so it was nice to have a fully charged cell phone.

If you're a walker, use the Waterfront to walk in the morning vs the jogging track where you have to look over your shoulder constantly to avoider runners. There are rolls and coffee out too in the mornings at various points along the Waterfront.

Also, if you're like me, you haven't figured out what specialty restaurants you want to book months ahead of time online. But figure it out the night before - dates and times - and then when you get to the cruise terminal, walk over to the windows, right by the ship, pick up the wifi and take your pick of date and times for whatever restaurant you want, avoiding lines on the ship or having to scramble to use the wifi once on board. Nice way to just be done with it.
