What's the difference apart from the colour of the packet. Same ingredients!

It's to do with kitniyot..... not about to go into the different dietary regs between Ashke**** and Sephardi here. (CC replaced the ****)

We were on the Royal Princess 2 years ago over Passover. At the time it was standard matzah, it wasn't Kosher for Passover- the cheap Manishevitz wine even said "not Kosher for Passover." The supposed matzah ball soup was miso soup with tiny hard balls in it off supposedly matzah meal. We were very disappointed as the meal was truly awful. The passengers that attended including dh and myself, led a "sort of service"--- This was the year that Princess got cheap and would no longer offer any deals for clergy to be on board during major holidays. Any way, we decided in the future not to book any cruises with Princess over Passover time in the future. And I should mention, we are very reform!

Does anyone know if Princes have matzo available on cruises over Passover?

They usually do in both the dining rooms and the buffet, but you have to ask for it.

Hardest part is finding someone to ask who knows what you are talking about. You might want to bring a picture of it from home (maybe a picture from an old package).

Also how it's baked. Matzoh for Passover has a strict time limit from water added to fully baked.

Chabad and Shmurah is a whole different ball game.

We avoid Shmurah at all costs, though it's probably better the Imodium when needed.
