Robes, etc

I am a newbie with more questions. If you ask for a robe or are given one, can you keep them and is there a charge to keep them. Also, does the spirit have dryers on board and how much are they charge? Can you buy the collapsable coolers at the dollar store? Sorry for all the questions

On this board, all questions are welcome. Volume should never be a concern.

1. Robes. It depends on the cruise line and on your cabin category. If you get a robe in your cabin, it's yours for the duration of the cruise, but it stays on board. (Even if you are in the Penthouse Suite.) You will be given a card that will instruct you how to buy your robe if you wish to do so. The price varies and I've never bought one, but if I recall correctly they usually want $80 or so. Depending on the line, the robe may, or may not, have the cruise line's logo on it.

2. Hair Dryer. I assume, when you say "spirit" you are either on an NCL cruise or a Windstar cruise. I suggest you ask your Travel Agent about whether your ship has hairdryers. By and large, many folks have said on Cruise Critic that they aren't happy with the dryers on board, when they are provided, so they recommend bringing your own in any case.

If you want more specifics, you might want to post your question on the specific cruise line board for your ship. Here's a link to NCL and to Windstar.

3. Coolers. Collapsible coolers are available everywhere, so I'm sure you'll find them at a Dollar Store.

Carnival and Seabourn also have ships named Spirit.

No, you cannot keep the robes. They will charge you anywhere from $80 to $100 if you take them from the ship. You usually get robes for shipwear only if you're in one of the more expensive cabins/suites.

Bring your own hairdryer as the ones in the bathroom are really bad.
