In room dinner question

If we decide to skip formal night on our short cruise, we may want to enjoy eating dinner in front of the window in our suite. There would be 4 of us at dinner.

Am I correctly understanding that it would cost $50 to have the dinner brought there? Is this somehow different than just having room service deliver the meal - which would have no cost.

Thanks!

This is a special that includes a waiter to serve you and a few other 'special' things. I've yet to figure out why though anyone would pay extra for it. icon_eek.gif You can order anything you want to eat and serve yourself for only the price of a good tip.

The special things mean something to someone they include french champagne, a picture, and the waiter. Is it a good idea $$ no, would it be a great way to celebrate a special night, sure. It costs $50. Going to Sabatini's, would be $40 and you aren't "royalty" that night.

You can enjoy a regular dinner in your suite/stateroom by just calling room service, having them provide the menu for the evening and then ordering. OR, you can pay the fee and have it really special with all the extras that provides.

Also, don't let "Formal Night" scare you out of the dining room. Some people dress casually. I have never seen anyone turned away. And, over many voyages, there have been some really far out attires that we have seen.
