ZellaLamb Posted April 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2016 Has anyone had to use these? I am not even sure where to purchase them. I've been asked to cover my wheelchair wheels with special "slippers" before I enter a palace in St. Petersburg. I'll be using my Wheelchair88 chair (foldawheel) and the tires are 10" and 8". Putterdude Posted August 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 28, 2016 Which palaces required covers....we did not need them when there in late May.
ZellaLamb Posted August 29, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted August 29, 2016 We missed a full day of tours because of the weather so we saw no palaces.
Id rather be diving Posted March 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2017 I think it's St. Catherine's that the OP is talking about. I was told by our tour guide that we'd have to have them for my husband's scooter. I haven't been able to find any for his scooter, BUT I found them for wheelchairs. Just google wheelchair tire slippers and you'll find them. Amazon has them as well as other places.
mercury7289 Posted July 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2017 Having been there this year with a collapsible wheelchair, no slippers for the chair was necessary, reason being that it had white tyres.
dogs4fun Posted June 17, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 17, 2018 The restored parquet floors in the Catherine Palace require wheel covers for your chair only if the tires are black. You can purchase these covers online - Google is your friend.
Knolmom Posted July 15, 2018 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2018 I was not allowed to use a rollator or scooter in Catherine’s Palace and no wheelchairs or rollators are permitted in the Faberge Museum in St Petersburg. If I am not mistaken, neither wheelchairs nor rollators or scooters are permitted in the Riskmuseum in Amsterdam.
