ann41 Posted April 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 21, 2016 How is this room 10190 - MID DECK 10 ? What are some of advantages of having a mini suite compared to a balcony ? Back to researching this to death..
monkeybone Posted April 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) Just a bigger nicer bathroom really not much of a difference. I would go for the M6 with the large balcony. The good thing about cabin 10190 is close to the elevators. The M6 is a hike but I found the large balcony worth the walk. bbryan5 Posted April 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I took a look at the deck plans for ya. The good news is, 10190 has only other staterooms above and below. HOWEVER it seems to be extremely close to a bank of elevators. This could be a problem with noise. Just a heads up. You're around the corner from the elevators, so unless there's a very loud group gathered and yammering away, you won't hear much of anything. We were in 11182 last year which is closer to the elevator lobby, and we only heard people once all week. The convenience far outweighs the noise concerns. Rare mking8288 Posted April 21, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2016 OP - no problems with noises from the elevators running, it's behind the walls & from what I know, sound insulation is very good ... loud adults running up & down at 2 AM, that's another story & not much you can do, from anywhere on a ship. As noted, close to the Fwd stairs & elevators are definitely a plus ... during embarkaton & disembarkation and tendering ports - you might find it a bit harder to get into the elevators as some are "reserved" or held for Haven guests' exclusive access. We're on deck 10 Fwd last year & generally just walk down to 6-7-8. It's configured to sleep 4 (1 pullman from the ceiling drop + day sofa converted) - the "living" area around the sofa is a little bigger/roomier - same for the king bed pushed together from 2 single. Not sure if that's next to the closet, if it is - a little extra elbow room as we had to sit on the bed to get things in & out of the closet. Plus, the bigger bathroom as noted already - and, a "cozy" regular sized balcony with room for 2 ... only.
