Journeys Cruises Repeating?

With the exception of the Hawaii cruises, is Carnival repeating any of the Journeys itins? Or adding different itins?

We were on the Miracle Mexican Riviera Journeys cruise in January. Don't think Carnival will repeat it :(. Not too sure how much money was brought in over and above the cruise fare. I know the photographers hardly took any pictures and rarely saw anyone in the shops. Over 25% were Diamond and Platinum, that's unheard of on the West Coast.

We enjoyed the itin, doing another similar 10 day one on Princess.

The only Journeys cruises they are doing now other than Hawaii is one way repositioning cruises.

I really don't think they made a whole lot of money on these. Our Journeys cruises we took were given away for free to a lot of the casino players (not us, we paid full price).

We were on a b2b Journeys cruise and there were over 500 Platinum and Diamond. The age of the crowd was quite old and you rarely seen anyone buying drinks. We would be sitting at the pool and be the only ones with alcoholic drinks. The photographers were not taking many pics since most of the people had been there, done that.

Sadie,

We were on the Miracle cruise also. We were hoping Carnival would do it again. But..the day before the cruise ......there were several cabins in every category..still available. Carnival probably won't do it again.:(

Like you...we are going to try Princess for the 10 day itineraries.

Cruzinator--

We will be doing our third longer Princess MR cruise in January on the Ruby. Several that were on the Miracle are on this cruise. Wish the itin included Manzanillo. Need to leave out of San Francisco for that port.

We are leaving on the Sunshine's Journeys cruise out of Charleston next month. It is a round-trip cruise. The identical cruise (same ship and itinerary) is open to book for 2017 and already selling quite well.

Yes there is only one 10 day cruise that is round trip sailing in May 2017 that is a Journeys cruise but after that...there is only repositioning cruises. Not ones that are round trip like we took this past January, 11 days from Miami to San Juan and 10 days from San Juan to Miami.

Exactly. Point made....book it as soon as you can, may never come around again.

21 days (well, 15 for me since I boarded in Antigua) B2B RT might be that once in a lifetime deal.

Ain't ya glad ya made it? I certainly was, even if it got truncated.

I think it is pretty telling that they are dead-heading ships between ports now. The Magic departed galveston and headed straight for canaveral, and I think the Breeze is heading direct from miami to galveston.

That's kind of interesting considering all of the repos in the last couple of years have been journey's cruises.

Yes, I sure am! Loved the ports!

I have been dying to ask but didn't want to get dragged but what are the Journeys cruises? Are they cruises dedicated to the band or just like journey=a long trip? Cause it seemed from the people posting that these cruises where mostly older people and I know Journey is like an old rock band so I've been curious if thats why the demographic seemed older....

HAHAHAHAHA...that is hilarious. It has nothing to do with the band.:D A Journeys cruise is a longer voyage ... 9 + days...with special features from the 80's such as throwback sea day, horse racing, etc. Here is a link to help you figure it out.

The demographics are older people because they are retired and can take longer cruises.

I loved the Journey cruises, being able to go from New Orleans or Galveston to San Juan by way of many different southern Caribbean ports that we don't usually sail to but the prices were lower than much shorter cruises showing that people mainly want to embark and debark from the same port.

I'm getting ready to go on the Hawaii Journeys cruise and I will sure miss the others in the future.
