After four years in a row cruising in September and October and getting re-routed, rescheduled and re-returned to the wrong place due to hurricanes, some of us who cruised on the “re-routed” Privateer Cruise this September decided to cruise again later in the year to the Western Caribbean to some new ports after hurricane season – so we might actually get to do what we’ve planned and so the folks from the "Hurricane belt" wouldn't have to stress over their homes while they were gone on a cruise and a hurricane shifted course! We've dubbed ourselves the "HAC-ers" aka Hurricane Avoidance Cruisers and invite you to come along and Meet the HAC-ers! on RCI's beautiful Explorer of the Seas on December 3 2006!

We sail from Miami to Belize, Costa Maya, Cozumel and Grand Cayman: quality beach time in Cozumel or Cayman, Christmas shopping at the local markets and duty-free store and some unique (optional) “on purpose” shore plans we’re cooking up….

Have you seen the parade along the Royal Promenade on Royal Caribbean’s beautiful Voyager-class ships? I’ll be serving “Caroline’s Treat”:) and other spirits in our atrium view cabin where you’ll have a front row seat!

BTW, we've changed the amenities for this group!!!! --- had some comments about the casino vouchers so Kevin and Crucon came through after using all my feminine wiles (which I swear I thought I left in Jamaica) and minimal groveling and we have substituted the $125 in casino vouchers per cabin for:

::drum roll please....::

Dinner for 2 at one of the specialty restaurants (Chops or Portofino!)

Group Cocktail party

$10 casino voucher per cabin.

Cruise Critic Lanyards (or similar) (One per person)

Cruise Critic Magnets (or similar) (One per stateroom>

15% Discount on all other Cruise Critic Logowear

So anyone who's "game" can join our tres expensive slot pull (each cabin will use their $10 in quarter tokens) to see who wins big and wins enough to pay for the cruise!! And still, of course, a prize for THE BIGGEST LOSER

For our great rates and booking information, please visit the Dec 3, 2006 Explorer of the Seas group page.

AND

then Meet the HAC-ers! on the group message board to meet and chat about our Hurricane Avoidance Cruise to the Wesern Caribbean "on purpose"...

Any questions? Or just want to chat? Shoot me an e-mail any time at Hostcaroline@cruisecritic.com

It won't be a mystery cruise in December: Get onboard the Explorer and go west with us!

Hi Caroline, isn't it crazy that we keeping doing Group Cruises for the same places? Ours is on the Enchantment this time and comes back two days before Christmas. It would have been neat to go at the same time and we could have met for a drink or something.

Happy Sailing,

Misty

We really will have to do that.. this group is in early December bec. we want to avoid hurricanes (again) but everyone wanted to be home a couple of weeks before Christmas and the host cruise is in October and I needed to be back at the office for a few weeks between cruises since there was no way to do a "back to back"! We will have to coordinate some time!

Caroline- I am curious and don't know where else to post this, but I know the Meet and Mingle on the Jewel of the Seas is held in the Hollywood Odyssey which is a cigar lounge and reeks of cigar oder. Isn't there some room with cleaner air for the party to be held in?

There's a great company in Grand Cayman that we went snorkeling with in September... does anyone know if Don Foster Dive is the tour op that Royal Caribbean uses????????

Early December should be a great time to visit the islands.. we will be over hurricane season by 3 days then!!!!

You've met the Fokkers, right.. I promise, the HAC-ers aren't nearly as wacky!!! (well maybe after Sr Frogs.....)
