rdt10 Posted June 7, 2016 #26 Share Posted June 7, 2016 Great information. I believe we can handle a short walk with our luggage. We just need to be careful on our packing to be sure we don't have too much. Or, perhaps the hotel can provide help with the luggage to the taxi or airport shuttle. We stayed at the Best Western Olimpia last month. The bellman at the hotel would not help with luggage outside the hotel. In Piazzale Roma near the taxi stand there is a porter station that will help take luggage to and from the hotels. We had 4 check bags and 2 carry on bags and they charged 25 euro. The Best Western Olimpia and Arlecchino are next to each other. Go to the hotel review of Arlecchino and pull up the professional photographs. In the 7th photo, look to the far left and you'll see cars .... that is Piazzale Roma. So it's not a far walk. That photo also shows some small bridges. Hopefully this link will get you to the rght photo. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187870-d202687-Reviews-Arlecchino_Hotel-Venice_Veneto.html#photos;geo=187870&detail=202687&ff=129515649&albumViewMode=hero&albumid=101&baseMediaId=129515649&thumbnailMinWidth=50&cnt=30&offset=-1&filter=
leongcpa Posted June 8, 2016 #29 Share Posted June 8, 2016 It is a very short walk. Try google maps. From this link, you should be able to rotate the camera around to see the parked cars (Piazzale Roma) and the Best Western Olimpia (note: Moresco is only a city block past the Best Western Olimpia, give or take): https://www.google.com/maps/@45.4371533,12.3193543,3a,75y,291.34h,81.92t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sVtQ-HO3INQLM95A1dp29rQ!2e0!7i13312!8i6656!6m1!1e1

Olyve Posted July 18, 2016 #31 Share Posted July 18, 2016 Al Codega what a hidden gem this place is and the price was a bargain. It is a charming boutique hotel a short stroll from San Marco Square and for cruisers - a really easy walk (even pulling your suitcase) from the Vapretto stop at San Marco Square. The rooms are spacious, the beds, large and comfortable and the decor is elegant and warm. Everything feels new, clean and upscale. Each morning a complimentary breakfast buffet is provided. We were amazed at how beautiful the presentation was and the variety of offerings. Delicious pastries, fresh juices, eggs, meats, even a variety of finger sandwiches - truly a feast. The staff couldn’t have been kinder and more helpful. Lorenza at the front desk was particularly memorable with suggestions on touring, restaurants and even arranging a private water taxi for us to the airport. They sent a porter with us to a nearby stop and getting to the airport was a breeze.
Maksim Posted July 18, 2016 #32 Share Posted July 18, 2016 I ended up booking Papadopoli (Sofitel). One short bridge to Piazza le Roma and had great reviews, 4 stars. Not sure about the elevator though. The main thing is that I was able to use my BA points (quite a lot, but hopefully it's worth it).

I haven't been inside but its a lovely hotel from the outside. Beautiful grounds; we always enjoy walking past the rose gardens.
Rare SandyR5 Posted July 25, 2016 #34 Share Posted July 25, 2016 We have stayed here twice. Great hotel. Land taxi brings you there from airport and you can walk, with help of the people mover, right to your cruise ship. Lovely hotel, great service, included breakfast and very helpful front desk. It's just 1 bridge from Piazza Roma. :)

I feel good about it now as I was stressing out about this whole situation of the bridges and walking with luggage, etc.
