Train from Budapest to Prague

Thanks for the info. We will be doing a Scenic River cruise Amsterdam to Budapest and thought we might go to Amsterdam a few days ahead of time and take the train to Prague. Friends of our did the same cruise (reversed) and they said their favourite place to see was Prague. I see it is cheaper of coarse to go Budapest to Prague, which could be an option at the end of the cruise, but usually when a cruise is over all I want to do is get home.

The best way to find out about train travel options in Europe ( and also to find out where to check prices and book tickets) is on the website of "The Man in Seat 61" . http://seat61.com/

His information is detailed and up to date.

Just Friday, booked 2 First Class train tickets Budapest-Prague (reserved seats) for mid-July for 35 Euros each. Used "The Man in Seat 61" and this made the process of using the Hungarian website much easier. I heartily recommend this also.

Cheers,

AG
