Need rental car post-cruise at Fort Lauderdale port

Hello. We are staying 3 extra days after our cruise in October on the Coral Princess out of Fort Lauderdale.

Any recommendations on rental car companies? Is there a rental car office at the cruise port or nearby?

Or do we have to take a cab to an office? Or is there a rental car shuttle that takes cruise passengers to their office?

Any advice would be welcome.

In my experience, rentals from FLL are tend to be a little cheaper than smaller rental offices, even among the same company. I'd pay the cab fare (split with someone if you can) and rent from the airport. It's also possible to split up, have one person grab the rental car sans luggage, and pick the other(s) and luggage up back at the port.
