When booking dinner reservations 90 days out.

When I book my dinner reservations at 90 days and I don't have the UDP/SDP, whatever its called now, will I have to pay the surcharge at booking time?0 Or once we are on board and have eaten at the restaurant ?

I believe they charge you at the time of booking. At least that is what happened to me.

Since many of the specialty restaurants now charge a la carte instead of a single flat fee, I don't believe you'll be able to prepay those charges. They will be applied to your stateroom folio.

I believe you pay right then and there with your credit card for the flat fee restaurants.

 

But for the a la carte ones, like Le Bistro, you don't pay anything. I'm convinced this is why there are so many empty tables at Le Bistro. Because people make the reservation, don't pay anything upfront, decide not to show and don't bother to cancel.
