  2. We were in Istanbul on the Epic this past November. Full coverage is only required while in the mosques. If you are worried about being too hot, I recommend wearing your shorts and t-shirt and carrying a pull on skirt and light weight long sleeve shirt in your backpack or tote to pull over your clothes while at the Holy sites. Socks are a pair of footies are a definite "MUST" as you are required to remove your shoes or sandals before entering. Scarves for ladies are available, but, for me, I found a used scarf not appealing and instead added a simple silk scarf to my outfit which I pulled over my head while in the mosque. Have fun. Istanbul is a beautiful city!
  3. Our next NCL sailing will be the 1st time we are Platinum status. With that, I know that we get a complimentary Behind the Scenes Tour and an Around the World Wine Tasting. My question is, do we have to make reservations for those in advance or do we do that once we are on board with the Latitudes Representative? I am assuming the latter, but do not want to miss out on tour or wine..lol. Thanks!
  4. All I know is what NCL told me these refunds were for. Sorry. Every day I check my res to make sure my balance is still "paid in full", $0.00. After all the problems, I worry one of those refunds will show up as balance due!
  5. Finally our app is showing our correct itinerary, hotel, flights, etc for our Epic sailing in November. I have twice requested an updated confirmation be emailed to me from customer service but have received nothing. Is there a way to print a full confirmation from the app? I could not find anything to print but vacation summary, which does not show itinerary or hotels.
  6. On a high note...watch your credit card statements for refund from NCL for port charges! We saw two credits pending that didn't match anything we had ever paid. After calling customer service, a supervisor advised me these are valid refunds for port charges we paid for Ashdod and the difference in the port fees from Haifa to Athens. Yeah! I do like getting $$ when it's really owed to me.
  7. Mine finally correct after 2 more calls and an email to VP Guest Services. Still waiting for corrected itin, pre-cruise hotel info, and flights to Athens instead of Tel Aviv.
  8. Oops... I looked....shouldn't have! Res now says I now owe $63. Guess I'll be back on the phone tomorrow
  9. I was advised that the obc will not show on your reservation until we are on board as it cannot be used for pre-cruise purchases
  10. After 5 phone calls, 8 different representatives, I (fingers crossed), think my cruise is now correct. One of today's reps told me he'd never seen a reservation as messed up as mine. First, all excursions were gone. Told would be corrected in 48 hrs. Then all excursions back, including Ashdod, but at higher pricing so now a balance shows due. Called again and told 24/hrs for that to correct. Well, the only thing that changed was my Ashdod tour cancelled,no credit, still showing balance due. Called early this morning, routed ro UK customer service from US. OK, he was able to remove that balance due. All good, right? NO...new balance due amount shows! Called again. Agent advises she needs to have her supervisor assist and places me on hold. When she comes back I am advised new balance due removed and I will have a credit, too. (Not credit for Ashdod excursion, though). Hmmmm... ok. Then she transfers me to someone else to process refund for xld Ashdod. This agent tells me everything wrong. 3 tours pricing wrong, previous corrections were done by using pending rfnd for Ashdod and applying to higher priced excursions...nightmare. 2 hrs later, he goes over everything item by item and we are good. An hour later I look at my app and new balance due amount showing! Headache increases and I make another call to NCL. I am once again told it's corrected, my refund request for Ashdod tour shows pending at correct amount and new balance due is $0.00. I'm afraid to look again. Now, if I could just get my new airline flights and pre-cruise hotel info. What are the odds that will be correct? Still, in the end, we're going on a cruise!
  11. Just hung up from customer service in UK. Apparently my US call routed there due to early hour? Anyway, he advised me adjustment was handled and I should see zero balance due in a few hours. Also, should teceive refund on Ashdod excursion cancellation.
  12. Received 2 emails from NCL...one shows my excursions again. Mthe other says I now owe over $200 for those excursions! After calling I was told that should resolve itself in 48 hours.
  13. Already talked to them. I was told it's a "glitch" in their system and I need to call shore excursion desk to rebook everything and must request original pricing orvthey will book at new higher price. Just another headache to deal with. I love. NCL, but the 2 cruises have been a lot of work!
  14. I currently have 2 cruises booked with NCL. Late last evening I was looking on my app and tealized ALL shore excursions on both cruises that I had reserved and paid for are now gone. Anyone know what's happening? One of these cruises is the Epic, originally embarking in Israel. I've already been through craziness with that cruise. Not looking forward to hours on the phone getting this new problem handled.
  15. Although I am experienced cruiser, this is first international cruise port where I have booked pre-cruise hotel package through NCL. Due to some recent health issues, we were looking to make things as simple as possible and it appears that transfer from TLV to Haifa can be difficult. My question; how do we find our NCL transfer in TLV? I know that when you use NCL transfer and arrive on embarkation day that there are usually reps in baggage claim area. However, we are arriving early. Transfers included with package (for which we paid a lot more than if we had booked same hotel on own!), but no info anywhere as to what those transfers entail or how to meet them! Customer Svc gives me different answers every time I call. I have verified that hotel does not offer transfers so not looking for hotel van. Help!

  17. Have reserved transportation only through ship from port to Pompeii so that we can tour on our own. I know that we need to purchase skip the line entry tickets ahead to avoid long lines. My question is does anyone have recommendation on which site to use for this purchase? I was looking at Viator but see I need to go to their office at Pompeii to pick up my tickets? What if it is not at same entrance our transport drops us? Confused & worried...help!

  19. We are sailing out of Haifa and are using the NCL air promotion. Considering arriving a day early, but NCL has no hotels to offer. Does anyone know if we will fly into Tel Aviv or Haifa? I see there is a small international airport there. Want to confirm hotel near airport we fly into as we will be tired. If TLV, we would then transfer to Haifa next day rather than trying to take train when we are already exhausted. Any suggestions, recommendations, appreciated. Thanks
  20. Anyone know if we can carry on bottled water & if so, how much? Found info on wine, 2 bottle per stateroom, & plan to do that. I have always ordereda case of water to our room, but Celebrity does not offer that option. All they have is beverage packages & we don't want that. Thanks!

  23. Just wondering for those of you who have booked GTY in past, what was the latest you've received your room assignmant? I know it says up to day of departure, but hoping we receive it a day or so before so we can print luggage tags. If we don't get it before, will that delay our luggage delivery on ship?
  24. We are new to RCCL but Pearl status with MGM. Will we get upgraded RCCL casino status with our Pearl card? How do we do that?
