Allure Royal Suite Class - About to have a first hand experience

Recommended Posts

UNDOCUMENTED PERK: At the end of day 3, our genie dropped off a complimentary laundry bag for anything we wanted cleaned. I saw pressing noted, but nothing about laundry so that was nice! It also appears we can have formal clothes pressed for 2nd night as well. Genie says to leave anything we want pressed the night before and he'll take care of it.

Below are photos of the laundry bag:

For the bridge deck tour do you think they would allow my daughter to stand or sit in the captains chair for a photo?

Don't count on a bridge tour. We asked our genie for one and he got it scheduled for the second sea day at 9:30. The day before he tells us that all bridge tours except the paid all access your have been cancelled.

However, several Star suite guests did get to do the bridge tour exactly at out scheduled time. (And I heard there were two groups). Not sure what the real truth behind the story was, but it was disappointing to say the least.

We are hoping to do an Allure or Oasis cruise in 2018. Before picking a ship, itinerary and cabin, I want to make sure we get the right one for us.

Questions:

1) Are most of your docking with the ship on the port side or the starboard side on the pier.

2) Does the big screen in the Aqua theater block your view of the ocean and is the screen in your face so to speak.

The tips on CC are just invaluable to us newbies. I appreciate everyone's input and advice.

Thank you.

Oasis class ships will most often dock with the starboard side on the pier.

The screen does not really get in the way unless you're trying to see the exact center of the ship's wake. I'll see if I can grab a quick video from the balcony tomorrow during daylight hours.

Some folks asked earlier about the genie doing special out of the ordinary things such as delivering something to a child, etc. As some might know, 2 of the 5 other friends traveling with us are about to move at the end of the month to another state. These are some of my closest friends, and the cruise is one of the last opportunities we will have together.

I noted that on the pre-cruise survey, and when Daniel checked in last night he pulled me aside and said he wanted to do something special for us while we were at dinner.

While we were at Chops and finished our meal, he brought over a specially decorated plate for each of the two. One of them said: Good friends never say goodbye. They say 'see you soon'.

It was a such a thoughtful touch. We had tears in our eyes. I missed what the other one said, but another person in our group grabbed a photo of it. The gesture meant a great deal to us and it was sincerely appreciated.

A few quick questions, we are booked in 9330 2 BR ATS in Feb. 2017, with (4) adults and (4) children. Does the second bedroom feel tight when both Pullmans are down? we are trying to decide if all four kids should bunk in there or put the one family in there with (2) adults in lower and (2) children upper? Glad to here your friends utilized the deck loungers one night...I was thinking the same thing:D

You mentioned you have (6) guests in cabin, are they all adults? How is the sofabed?

Next, Regarding drinks on balcony during the day? Will the genie bring you cocktails or buckets of beers? or do you need to order room service? or go out to bar every time you need a beverage refill? Is the mini bar filled with just sodas or does it have alcohol options to make drinks too? I noticed your post with the Star Class amenities for InSuite Cocktail service and I got a bit worried when the time specified 3-5pm.

Can you post some pics of the rooms, balcony etc, PLEASE.

Love this thread, makes the waiting more tolerable.

THANK YOU so much for answering all of our questions. Hope you are having a wonderful trip.

is that section only accessible for suite guests or is that section with cabanas overlooking solarium available to all guests?

Thank you!

Suite guests and Pinnacle Club C&A level.

I would not recommend adults on the pullman beds but in terms of tightness, it's not a lot different as the pullmans are directly above the normal beds. It's like having bunk beds. They don't come down until you're gone at dinner when your steward turns down the room. They also fold them up during the day so the room has more of an open feel.

Regarding the sofa bed, it's very comfortable. Our group is all adults. We did 2 in master bed, 2 in second room, and 2 on the sofa bed. As I said above, I don't recommend adults on the pullmans.

If I was in your situation, I would go with all kids in the guest room and a couple in the master and on the sofa bed. That way you have at least a little privacy.

The genie generally does not bring things himself. Think of him as the service team's quarterback. He calls the shots and gets things arranged. He'll coordinate with the stateroom attendant, the minibar person, etc. Tell him what you want and he'll engage the best/correct people to make it happen.

The minibar by default is a standard stock but you can request it stocked however you like (only Coke or extra gummy bears etc). They always kept a bottle of wine on ice for us as Mamma loves her wine. The stateroom attendant policed it and if he noticed the minibar person slacking would call him to get it fixed.

It was nice having Pringles and candy in the room we could late night snack on while waiting for room service. They'll even keep extra unchilled sodas and such sitting above the mini bar if you want so you can move drinks to the fridge mid day as you consume them. We currently have a half dozen cokes, 4 diet cokes, 2 sprites, and 4 Pelligrino sitting next to the wine and drink glasses on the shelf.

To be honest, we still have not done the in-suite cocktail service but it's basically a cart where a bartender comes to your room and will make a drink for each adult in the room. They have a special menu someone posted in another thread and you can customize drinks if you let them know in advance (if you want a specific brand of alcohol for example).

We always had a drink in hand from just being out/about on the ship. We had bottles of wine in the cabin as we hung out on the balcony.

I took a bunch of photos from inside the suite and of the balcony, including a video walk around of the balcony so you can see the views from different angles. I'll upload them as soon as I get home as it's difficult to mass upload photos.

This suite is seriously designed for entertaining. Inside there is

Circular table seating 4

Sofa couch seating 3

Bench under forward window seating 3

Single chairs (two total)

Right there you have SEATING capability for a dozen people. You could easily have another half dozen standing around comfortably.

Outside is:

Dining table seating 6

Bar style table overlooking theater seating 3

Loungers (3 total)

Single chairs (2 total)

Side table (2 total)

That's another seating for 14 outside plus all of the standing room.

If you want a nice quiet experience away from the action stand on the part of the balcony next to master bedroom entrance. It's your traditional "oceanview balcony".

No problem at all sharing... Two of the people are parents for one of us. Since they're like our parents too, mamma and pops got the master. :)

Remember... If mamma ain't happy, ain't nobody gunna be happy!

Tonight we saw Blue Planet. Daniel had specific seats for us he wanted us to sit in that was dead center behind the control board. Absolutely PERFECT seats! Able to see everything including the ariel acts without your head going in a bunch of directions.

Here's a picture of a seat that was marked reserved for us...

I've read in a few threads that Allure was no longer escorting guests off the ship. While our genie will be escorting us off, I did see on the TV that it's being done again for suite guests. See the details that was on the screen in the attachment...

  • 2 weeks later...

Question: which sailing were you on after launch of Royal Suite class? 1st or 2nd week? There was a poster on a different board that wasn't impressed with Denise. I am thinking they were the week before because they mentioned that they could get in touch with Denise...thinking the loop app was the issue and on yours they figured it out

We are on the same cruise just above you in 9730 and like you booked in May 2015. Hope you have a great time and will see you on board.

Well that is great! We will probably have the same Genie. Right now there are 5 of us. (Me, DW, DD and two sons), but we are probably going to add a friend last minute. We don't smoke, but we are from Texas via Tennessee...so you may get some "southern draaaaawwwww pollution" from below :)

We are from South Wales in the UK. It will be myself, wife and two teenaged daughter's. We are spending a week in Orlando before the cruise and a night in Fort Lauderdale. It's great that you don't smoke as either do we, but my daughter's tell me that I'm full of hot air. I can't wait now, as like you the star class was added after we book "what a bonus that was". :)
