MDR at Embarkation

Are the main dining rooms open during embarkation? Or buffet only?

Can't comment regarding US sailings but the MDR are opened every day on European sailings. In Europe there is no main embarkation port.

The main dining rooms will be open for dinner the day you embark the ship. If you would like to have lunch,,the buffet will be available all day long.:)

On European sailings we have always found the MDR open for lunch on embarkation day, owing to the fact that passengers come and go at virtually every port.

The Magnifica goes from Venice and doesn't pick up anywhere else, so same question ?

Hi Bob. what date are you going? As I say never known the MDR to be closed for lunch on embarkation day.

 

I'm on Splendida next week which is starting in Southampton, I'll be sure to check it out and report back

They'll be taking on in Bari as well, am 99% sure the MDR will be available. It was at Christmas when we embarked in Genoa :) From memory they tried to encourage use of the buffet but we still went to the MDR

I by much doubt that's true. Just because Vwnice is the only option you can see from the website you're looking at, doesn't mean they're not selling other embarkation dates/ports in other regions.

Just checked the UK and Italian sites and the Magnifica is definitely embarking passengers in Bari so the MDR will be open on the Venice embarkation date. They may also be selling Piraeus as an embarkation port in Greece.

I think it would help if the OP told us which ship they are sailing on to get more accurate information,,,USA sailings are different than European sailings.
