Valley Church or Dickenson Beach?

We are in Antigua for a day (7 am to 4pm) on Jewel of the Seas. I think there are 2 other large ships in port that day!

We have been to Valley Church beach while on a cruise many years ago. We hear it has gotten much much busier with cruisers over the years. We took the local bus there and it was lovely back then!

We have read about Dickenson Bay being closer to the port and a favourite with many.

We want to rent chairs and swim and relax for the day.

Has anyone been to both and can compare?

Haven't done both but did Dickenson Beach, specifically Tony's Beach Bar and Grill and we had a good time. Mind you, this was back in 2008 but I remember the sand on that beach was like white sugar. It was the prettiest beach I've ever been to. We're going back there in November on the Regal Princess.
