How does Osheehans exactly work as far ordering food

Is there a waiter that takes your order at the table

Or can you simply sit at the bar and order

There are waiters who take food orders. Even if you are sitting at the bar then you need to order from them. On occasion when it's very quiet I've had the barstaff take our order for us, but usually they are too busy and just have to pass it on anyway.0

I always eat breakfast there and the food has always been great! I order eggs cooked to order, hash browns, wheat toast and fruit plate. Only problem ever is that a couple of times the toast has been just bread!

Yes, there is less on the menus on the bar side.

I've never had a problem finding a seat for breakfast. I am a morning person so I'm usually there by 8 am. Have returned with others at 9--still lots of available tables .

They don't serve anything for breakfast that you can't find at the buffet. It's just very basic stuff, and just 4 or 5 items on the menu. I'll usually do breakfast there maybe once a cruise, but I much prefer the buffet.

I do not think many days go by where I am not grabbing coffee and Danish at the Casino, bright and early, then a continental up at the buffet, Then a sit down breakfast at O Sheehans, and then about 9:30 get the wife up and out to have breakfast with her either in the dining room or at the buffet.

 

The morning coffee and Danish is for waking around and getting my eyes opened. It sits in the back corner and most do not even know it is there.

The buffer is great unless you want poached eggs or other items that really should be cooked evenly. I wasn't crazy about the breakfast items from O'Sheenans, but breakfast in the MDR was great.

From my previous experiences, you have to see the wait staff so they can scan your card and assign you a table, just like in the other restaurants.

 

And yeah, I too can't wait to try out the new menu for the wings :)

My dad will be happy to hear that the wings are good. Might have a couple too, to pair up with lots of good beer. Looking forward.

We loved that each night they had a special. One night was ribs - served with 2 onion rings, 2 fried shrimp and broccoli. Another night the special was prime rib with baked potato and corn on the cob. And there were other specials too. Check your daily freestyle. These dinners were very good!!! We also ordered off the menu - Caesar salad, garden salad, fajitas - all were very good as well.

Yes, breakfast is limited at the pub but that's why I like it. Not a buffet person at all so I appreciate the service and quiet! And, as a person who goes wild on a cruise with drinks and speciality dining, watching my calories at one meal makes me feel better![emoji3]

That is the case in the main eating area, but you can just grab a table in the bar area.

 

This is on the newer ships (Epic and newer). It may be different on the older ships with o'Sheehans.

My last cruise was on the Epic and it was my first experience on a ship with O'Sheehan's. I loved it! I'm not crazy about the buffet--way too crowded for me--so I had breakfast in O'Sheehan's every morning. It was much calmer than the buffet. Yes, the menu if pretty limited but it was sufficient for me as I like most things on it. About halfway through my 10- cruise I ordered the Thai chili wings for a mid-afternoon snack and was hooked! Wish I'd seen them earlier as I had them everyday after that! :D The nachos were strange. They had lots of bacon on them which I found odd. My next cruise is on the Sun so I'll definitely miss O'Sheehan's.
