Pre-Cruise Beach Stay Near Tampa

We'd like to spend a couple of days at an area beach before our Brilliance cruise in November. We would like a walkable area on or near the beach with restaurants, shopping, etc. nearby. What area and/or hotels do you recommend? We would like to pay around $150/night if possible.

Clearwater Beach.

Siesta Key! It is closer to Sarasota, south of Tampa, but it is a very gorgeous beach area and it is very walk-able to the village where there are restaurants and shops.

 

There are many adorable little beach bungalows throughout the town, that you will not find on sites like Expedia or Kayak. You have to Google beach bungalows, cottages, etc. Our most recent stay was at the Ringling Beach House (not a bungalow, but it is a wonderful property).
