My husband and I are so excited we snagged a Haven room for the May 28th sailing via upsell! We have never cruised NCL or Haven? Any tips or advice?

Congratulations!!!! You will be spoiled

Go to the bottom of the main NCL page her on CC and it has a box that says "search this forum" type in Haven and sit back and read away.

Here are 2 of my favorite reviews but they are for Escape not sure of your ship

Get excited...VERY excited. You will love the Haven. I got an upsell for spa suite and unfortunately, we are hooked and would never not use the Haven for any Norwegian cruises. You are escorted through every other passenger to a back elevator, so expect to be looked at. lol they hold up a sign and I'm not even sure what the sign said, but we followed her to a back elevator where we were then led through all the masses waiting for embarkation. We then waited in another room and within 10 mins were escorted onto the ship to a private elevator set aside for Haven guests and up to the Haven lounge. You will be served drinks and slider burgers with french fries. Really cool.

You will enjoy the Haven restaurant. Lobster tail and filet mignon at no extra charge. Another little secret we found out by accident is that there is reserved seating in the theater for Haven guests, roped off. You never have to worry about getting a seat for the show.

Anyway, enjoy yourself. You will be so happy you did the upsell!

+1

I forgot to mention that. We arrived early and just sat there because it said "Haven". We didn't realize how packed the room would become. If we arrived 5 minutes before the show started, we would have gotten the same seats while others scrambled to find somewhere to sit.

Don't forget to order a drink while you wait for the show.

I love the Haven too. You will have a wonderful vacation. Be sure to contact the concierge for any tickets/shows you want to see. The gentleman we had on Breakaway (I forget his name) was fantastic. Once we called him up in the early evening to ask if there were any seats available in a specialty restaurant that evening. He said "when would you like to eat." "Whenever there's a spot, but half an hour would be perfect." I replied. He just said "Done." That was his standard answer for anything we asked for.

As someone above said, you'll never be able to go back. It's a really great experience.

It's become cliche, but it's true. It's extremely hard to not book The Haven again once you've experienced it. Don't be shy about telling your butler your needs. He is there to help in anyway possible. I always ordered room service from the Haven Restaurant for breakfast the night before. I'm not a morning person so the idea of getting dressed to go to the buffet was not very appealing. There is no additional charge for room service. If you've already reserved dinner and show times but once on board you want to make changes, not to worry. As someone else stated the concierge will accommodate you. I've had Adrian twice and he's great. Take advantage of the courtyard and the private sun deck. That's a mistake I always make. Too busy doing other stuff on the ship to actually enjoy the Haven exclusive areas. Congrats on your upgrade, now start saving for your next Haven suite [emoji41]

Congrats on your upsell!!!

We are just got off the Escape and had a wonderful time. If you want a lookahead, I posted the current daily programs http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2358689

Adrian Bica is your Concierge. Adrian and his staff will take care of all of your needs.

The Haven's Captain's reception is on the first sea day (Sunday) at 7:00 pm in the Havens Courtyard.

The concierge staff will make/change dinner and show reservations for you.

If you go to the Supper Club Cabaret show - extra chage (Wednesday 8:30) or the Supper Club dinner show (many nights and complimentary), Adrian will escort you down the service elevators and directly into the theater for prime seating before the doors open for general admission.

At the For the Record and After Midnight Shows, enter the theater through the left-side door. There is a reserved Havens seating section about 1/2 way down the theater (we normally look for our own front and center seats). Adrian's staff will be there to help you.

If you want to be first off the ship at any port, Adrian's staff will escort you down the service elevator to a private security checkpoint to scan you off the ship.

We did a white tablecloth breakfast room service on the port days (St. Thomas and Tortola). You can write anything you want on the breakfast cards (e.g. Eggs overeasy, filet steak, bacon, potatoes, mushrooms, fresh fruit and toast).

Have one or more dinners in the Haven's restaurant. The menu is wonderful. We were actually running late to a show, so our waiter had the butler bring our desserts down to our cabin for a late night snack.

We made sure that our butler set out a bowl of M&Ms and Gummy Bears for a quick snack. And asked for some PB&J sandwiches for an afternoon snack (along with the imported cheese).
