laceyjane Posted October 20, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2005 Hi, We will be in San Juan 2 days before our March 13, 2006 Empress of The Seas 11 night cruise. We are planning on touring Old San Juan on a Sunday. Are all the shops, restaurants, etc. open on Sundays and if so do they have shorter hours on Sundays? texancruzer Posted October 20, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 20, 2005 OK I will quote from my Frommers Caribbean Ports of Call again ..... I really sound like a broken record here.... but it's all in this one book - HONEST. The whole Caribbean in one book.... Some of the historic sites are open on Sunday - some not. Shopping: " Generally shopping hours are 8-6 Mon - Thur and Saturday, 8-9 on Friday, 11-5 Sunday for some stores, though most are closed. " Looks like most restaurants are open. Hey LaceyJane; Have you registered for the Meet & Mingle? We are a small but friendly group - only have 8 people listed so far - but who knows it's still quite a ways away. Bill and I are also arriving two days early and staying 1 day after. Would like to consider changing our pre-cruise hotel to Old San Juan area but will probably keep it out at Isla Verde. Thanks for asking your question - I hadn't as yet checked our travel book for info on San Juan, concentraiting on the other islands. We got a Caribbean Ports of Call book by Kay Showker - but I have heard many good things about Frommer's guide. Anyway it's our first cruise and I can't wait. Lots of wonderful help on these boards. Thanks to all who have helped us.
