4 in a room

Recommended Posts

Looking at booking 4 to a room on Harmony, and to me it looks like they are all sofa beds. It doesn't say pullmans at all. So, does that mean they would expect 2 people to share a sofa bed? or will they bring in a cot of somekind for the 4th person.

Only the Junior Suites have Pullmans and a sofa bed on Harmony. They do expect 2 people to share a sofa bed. There would be no room for a cot.

Personally I would book 2 connecting cabins.

They would expect two people to share the sofa bed. Not sure where a cot could go with that sofa bed extended.

I know it really stinks that all the newer ships don't have Pullmans they have the sofa beds, which IMO is pushing people to book 2 rooms. For us there's no way my teens will share the sofa bed anymore and it's too costly for the 2 rooms.

I haven't looked at Harmony but none of Anthem's balcony cabins have a Pullman, but there are a few OceanViews which do so check all the categories

There are OV staterooms with a pullman and sofa bed.

I just can't justify the difference in price between 3 in one room or 4 in 2 rooms (it's $1700 more). I guess I'm going to have to look at less expensive ships if all of us are going to go. Or at least ships that actually have proper sleeping set up for 4 in one room.

Get 2 rooms.

If they're like the freedom, sofabed means "couch that lays down flat". There is no mattress - very uncomfortable and not really made for an adult - or adult size person! Even my then-8 year old was uncomfortable.

We had 4 in a room. Was my girlfriend at the time (now wife) and her two kids. I wanted to jump overboard and lost way too much money in the casino because that was my escape place.

We just spent the weekend on harmony in a superior balcony cabin deck ten, we were four and it was doable but vey tight - the sofa pulls out to a split level sofa bed which my sons had to use (13 and 17) they said it was ok actually but I did find it

meant you could not get past it until they woke up, not sure I would want to spend a week like that but on a ship like this you are hardly in there anyway! I say of you can afford a second cabin great if not just know it is not so bad and is comfortable to sleep on.

cruise cabins are NOT hotel rooms. they are way smaller and have way less 'free space' to squeeze extra sleeping options in.

when the sofa beds are open/set up there is almost zero room to do anything, and getting to the bathroom in the middle of the night cane an exercise in stubbed toes.

the ship plans/designs things based on 2 people per cabin. honestly with teens/adults ado you REALLY want to share a very small bathroom all week?!

We did 4 to a room on Oasis in 2014. Wife, me, a 5 and 13 year old. We had a boardwalk balcony with a Pullman and sofa. It was probably our worst cruise to date, not because of the ship or anything else but because of that.

Agree with everyone else. Book two cabins, and honestly...if you can't afford two balconies, get an inside across the hall. Chances are your kids will be doing most of their activities outside of the cabin and won't even use a balcony.

Would you happen to have a photo of the sofa bed pulled out?

We're a family of four (DH, DW, DD10, & DD4) sailing on the Explorer of the Seas to Alaska next week. On the deck plans, our cabin has a little symbol that indicates our cabin has pullman beds. Can anyone tell me if the pullman beds replace the sofa that is in the stateroom? Or are the pullman beds on the walls in the same area of the stateroom as the normal twin beds, and there is still a sofa in the room?

The pullman beds so not replace the sofa. They extend down from the ceiling. If you post what category stateroom you have, we can look for a photo.

We're in a Category L stateroom; specifically room #6533. I've seen a couple of pics of the pullmans and how they extend down from the ceiling. However, the pics I saw cropped out the area of the room where the sofa would be. So, I could not tell if the sofa is still there or not. If the sofa *is* still there, is it a convertible sofa that folds down into a bed? Or not, because of the pullmans? Main reason I ask is that DW and I have concerns with our DD4 sleeping in one of the pullmans. If the sofa converts to a sleeper, we may put her there instead.

In 6533 there are two pullmans over the main bed, and a sofa. The sofa does not convert to a sleeper, however the stateroom attendant could probably make it up as a bed if you ask.

 I'm confused. I looked at the deck plans for Harmony and there is no stateroom #6533 on deck 6 - nor is there a category L on deck 6. Could you have possibly meant 7533 or 8533? Looking for pics, so far no luck. :(

I thought RobbW (not the OP) was on Explorer.
