Is anyone else annoyed at the old posts coming back up?

It is annoying to me to bring up the old posts just for the sake of bringing old posts back. If they were interesting and valid, that is one thing but they seem controversial and cause more arguments such as sharing pop cards, etc. .

 

I like this board because people generally don't fight. Let's not bring the controversial posts back to the top.

Also not trying to offend, these posts are being brought by me anyway because they are unique and not the same old wine, upgrade, this vs. that post. People were arguing over everything for a while, my intention was to give us something new to think about.

 

That being said... "less filling" and anyone who says "tastes great" is crazy

So far Sue and I have said we weren't trying to argue and YOU have said "I see no value to them" repeating an argumentative postion.

I also like this board because people don't argue with each other like some of the other CC boards and other cruise boards.

 

I also see NO VALUE in bringing these old posts up.

As my upcomming cruise in November being my first, , I don't mind the arguing. I like reading the different points of view to get a better feeling of what's going on so I can better prepare.

But post them you did, which proves the point that they were interesting to you and not some point of argument, I have looked at all the posts I have rescued, and have not found a single one that ignited a controversy.

 

But even if it had, that would be the choice of the igniter, if you don't like fighting, blame the fighters not the post. People do disagree here, some of them politley some of them like children.

 

There have also been many positive comments about these interesting posts. So I am going to politely disagree with you and state for the record I am glad you have your opinion and thus far have been polite as well.

 

There is nothing inhernently less controversial about a new post on the same old topic. It is the post and the people who address it that make the differnce.

I agree, this is a really nice board. I mostly lurk and do not post. I do not want this board to become like the others where they fight all the time. Bringing controversial subject titles up for no reason where people are starting to fight just doesn't make sense.

For those of you feeling duty bound to comment on bringing up posts just to argue, look at the ones brought up and see how much actual arguing has gone on before you decide that the comments of this poster are in fact accurate and that his assumption that they had no value and were meant to inspire contorversy, the "funniest t-shirt" thread is a pretty good example of a rescue, it has been HUGELY re-read and laughed at.

I can sure see how you'd be annoyed by the old posts from a year or so ago that you've no doubt seen before or even replied to. But I hadn't seen them and have found them entertaining and informative.

 

We went on our first Princess cruise just a couple months ago so we're new to all this Princess informaton. In fact, were it not for the dates on the posts I wouldn't have known they were old.

 

Funny how some topics are timeless by nature.

 

I appreciate being able to learn through the posts of others so I don't ask too many stupid questions.

 

I hope you'll bear with us new people as we stumble our way through the plethora of valuable archived information available here on this board and maybe even share some of your experience with us...it really makes a big difference in our cruise experience.

 

I'd imagine that you've seen it all since joining the board on 01/10/04 but if you would be so kind as to let those who have been around longer than us new people share their wealth of experience and bring some old "gems" back up to the top it would be appreciated

One of the ones you brought up srphnx was started by me, caused me a LOT of heartache and vicious comments at the time, and I wish it to go far back down in the pages again please. Some of the folks who posted on that string berated me so heavily after that post that I took a vacation from the board for many months until they gave up.

 

I prefer to hang out in this fun and happy and helpful board again, so let's not dredge up old controversial topics please.

Suzy, no offence intended.

 

Some people on this board will argue anything, Nothing we can do about it, I read your post, the fact that one,two or a hundred people who didn't know Princesses guidlines and took it out on you did so is not your fault and certainly not mine.

 

For the record, Princess will be sure to provide handicapped cabins to any and all who need it and will relocate those who do not.

 

No one I know of is bring up old posts to start fights, there are plenty of "new" topics for that. I brought yours up because it was on a topic not addressed ten times in the last month. That was the ONLY reason. I am sorry you suffered but that wasn't your fault or mine.
