Cactus Posted May 10, 2004 #28 Share Posted May 10, 2004 Another reason may be bar drinks. Did you ever hear of Rum and Pepsi, or Jack and Pepsi? Coke is a natural at a bar - Rum and Coke, Jack and Coke, etc. Booked: Island Princess 06/26/04 Alaska Grand Princess 03/19/05 Western Caribbean Completed: Golden Princess 03/20/04 Eastern Caribbean Star Princess 10/11/03 Mexican Riviera

HeatherDMG Posted May 10, 2004 #31 Share Posted May 10, 2004 I personally try to drink mostly water, but when it comes to mixing with rum, it's coca-cola all the way. And whenever I do crave a soda, it's Diet Coke. I hate Pepsi. verwirrt Posted May 10, 2004 #33 Share Posted May 10, 2004 DH a lifelong Coke drinker, now drinks DierRite or Diet RC. So far they are the only diet drinks I know of that are made with Splenda. They don't have that "diet" taste.

bcs819 Posted May 10, 2004 #37 Share Posted May 10, 2004 HOw funny, I do exactly what Kristen does, only the other way around. I can't drink Coke. I do take my Pepsi with me everywhere. Beleive it or not, after my brother awoke from a several month coma, the first thing he asked for was Pepsi. Imagine not speaking for a year, and the first words we heard were "Pepsi for me". It drives servers nuts when I ask for Pepsi, they bring me Coke and then think I won't notice. Coke and Pepsi are NOT equal and while I will not offer up that my brand is better than yours, I would still like the choice of having what I want... Mezzaluna Posted May 10, 2004 #41 Share Posted May 10, 2004 My husband and I also prefer Coke but where we live (outside Milwaukee) it seems that all we can get is Pepsi in restaurants. We'll alsk for Diet Coke and they'll say, "Diet Pepsi okay?" We scowl and say no, but we'll take the Pepsi. I think in some regions the sales staffs do better for one company; better in other areas for the other company. We're looking forward to being on CP, or Coke Planet (A/K/A Coral Princess) this July! I do wish they had caffeine free Diet Coke, but I'll be glad to drink Sprite after 7:00 p.m. (Any later and I won't sleep.) I do have a funny Coke story. When I was 16 I went on a People-to-People student ambassadors tour of Europe. We stopped for lunch in a small town in Czechoslovakia and were served schnitzel and boiled potatoes. We were told that Cokes were coming. They arrived with a three-finger head of foam! It seems they had mixed the Coke syrup with near beer for us. What a treat....
