LadyBeBop Posted June 3, 2016 #26 Share Posted June 3, 2016 I was also told it was wrong to work into the MDR with a drink in my hand. Hmm. I was never told that. My last cruise (keep in mind, this was Royal Caribbean) we always had a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar next to the MDR. And we always walked in with the cocktail. Oh we'll never claimed to have class. In sure you have a lot more class than those who say you have no class.

All I can say is I have been fortunate in my life to have rubbed shoulders with the rich and famous and poor and homeless and the percentage of good and bad, class and uncouth, nice and nasty, or any other break up of people you want to apply, is about the same in each group. That's someone else's decision about me. I have walked into the MDR with a drink. Before I get to far a waiter puts in on a tray and takes me to my table with it. doneinne Posted June 3, 2016 #30 Share Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) We have walked into the MDR several times with drinks, no one has ever batted an eye. I never understand people worrying about what others are doing. I'm to busy enjoying my vacation. Edited June 3, 2016 by doneinne

I am mostly just concerned about being a good patron/guest of Carnival and respectful of policy. (I'm a rule follower) For me its mostly about respect always. Have a great time, enjoy yourself but ultimately be respectful :D:D

If you want more than one drink during dinner stop before you go in to avoid the wait, then as soon as they come around, get another drink, it'll take a while. Slip him a dollar with each drink and you will notice the time will speed up

muffinbaby Posted June 4, 2016 #36 Share Posted June 4, 2016 What about the drinks purchased through the Bon Voyage site? I just checked out and noticed the disclaimer about having these drinks only in your cabin. How strictly is this enforced?

I just checked out and noticed the disclaimer about having these drinks only in your cabin. How strictly is this enforced? How can they possibly enforce it? I buy Cheers! When I get a drink, I dump it in my tumbler, wait 5 minutes and get another. The tumbler keeps them cold. Then I can carry on with my Lido activities, and I'm set for awhile before I need another. No one has ever stopped me and asked what is in my cup or sniffed it, whatever. I would think the same thing would apply if you made a drink in your room from your Bon Voyage purchase. Have a great cruise!:)

poz222 Posted June 4, 2016 #40 Share Posted June 4, 2016 It's your vacation, do what you want... Personally I always enter the MDR with full drink and order rest from waitress (unless they are slow in which case I get up and go to closest bar! It's a cruise, seriously no one cares! I just checked out and noticed the disclaimer about having these drinks only in your cabin. How strictly is this enforced? On our last cruise we used colored naglene bottled and mixed drinks in the room and took then all over .... they could have held water, no one asked. I never took them in the MDR or shows just buffet, lidocaine, casino, those types of places. That cruise was 4 years ago so perhaps things have changed but it doesn't sound like it

I just checked out and noticed the disclaimer about having these drinks only in your cabin. How strictly is this enforced? It isn't enforced at all. I filled my cup up with OJ in the mornings or Lemonade at night, mixed in the vodka I got from funshops and had a nice time like that. I took it everywhere but the MDR. Shows, buffet, casino, all over the place.

I like it with rum but vodka would work too.:)
