Saint Lucia help

Recommended Posts

Hi all!

We leave for our wedding cruise on AOS Friday! We dock in Saint Lucia and would love to go to Roseau Bay. Has anyone gone there or know how to get there? I have seen kayak tours but we just want to go to the beach and lay there. Not have a guided 4 hour kayak tour and not get to go on the beach. TYIA!!!!!

Our CD seemed to be pushing Royal Caribbean's ship excursions more than usual. We've got a rule. If they have a walled off port village, if we go out at all, we book only ship tours.

From watching the land, it looked like St. Lucia had a walled off port village.

Places like Boston or Portland have us leaving the ship and going directly to the port.

I was at St. Lucia in late April on Adventure. I went to Reduit beach, which I highly recommend.

I was initially going to say that it should be no problem to get a taxi. Roseau Bay is closer to the port than Reduit beach and that was 20 minutes with traffic. But, looking at Google Maps, I'm not seeing any roads that go to or even go near Roseau Bay. So, I'm not sure a taxi will get you there. My guess is that the ship excursion will start at Marigot Bay where you can kayak from there to Roseau Bay.

If you can get a taxi to Roseau Bay, it might cost you a bit. When I was there, the taxis were not doing one-way trips. Instead, they arranged a pick up time with the passengers. If there isn't a full taxis load going to Roseau Bay, they're likely to charge you much more to make up for the lost fares.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!!!
