Another dinning room question

I understand the dress code for the dinningroom for the evening meal, but I was wondering if they are as strict for breakfast and lunch. We only ate supper in the dinning room on our first cruise and on the next one we would like to try at least breakfast. Thanks for any help.

I'm pretty sure it was no tank tops, which wasn't gender specific. My friend and I wanted to go one morning after working out but decided that was pushing it--we were both in strappy tops.

No shorts at dinner. You can wear them in the daytime, I think.

My friend and I ate lunch in the dining room when we were in swimsuits with a skirt/shirt covering them. We didn't look nice at all, but no one cared. Now, I don't think they would have appreciated it if the swimsuits had been damp, but during the daytime, most anything goes.

More specifically, you can wear your swimsuit, but it has to be under clothing that looks like clothing (shirt and shorts for example) rather than a swim wrap or just a long T-shirt.

Also, I've never seen women wearing nice tank tops (that cover without "gaps") turned away from breakfast or lunch. By nice I mean clean and tidy and not belly baring, not teeny straps, not super low cut, and not a men's tank with large arm holes. (Not to say it doesn't happen, just that I've not seen it.)

This thread reminds me of the time I was in the Windjammer for lunch one day.I witnessed a man come into the room wearing only a speedo, (No shoes, shirt etc. and was dripping wet) he proceeded to the first food station but before he could grab a plate and start filling it a RCCL employee QUICKLY escorted him out of the Windjammer.

It's funny what some people think is OK!

We were very upset with the allowed dress code for dinner in the Formal Dining Room on our Sept. Cruise on "Voyager". We were at a table with 2 other couples and on formal night they came in slacks and blouses.Men were in suits. The ladies's blouses needed to be pressed but this was not the way to dress on Formal Night anyhow.I am sure they had a fancy top or dress at home to wear. On the following night, both couples arrived in shorts and Tees and the mens tees were all sweated up. It was disgusting. Meanwhile, Hubby and I were dressed according to attire for dining room for that evening. After 3 nights, We had it and never returned to Our table. Spoke to maitre"D and He could do nothing for us as supposedly there were no vacant tables. I complained to him about the allowed attire of couples at our table and He made no comment. The other couples in conversation first nights We ate with them said our own waiter told them whatever attire was acceptable in the Winjammer was OK with Him. From what I can see from this past experence, people do just what they want and the Ship does not enforce their own dress codes.

No kidding.........last week on the Radiance a man came into the Windjammer for lunch in his bath robe! The robe came to his knees. I'm not sure what he had on under it, but his legs were bare!!
WHOA! seriously????? Did anyone stop him? I wonder if anyone else got to see "what he had on under it"!!!!

Don't worry about it, Maybebell. It's a word that many, many people spell incorrectly. (I do love Merion Mom's gentle ribbing though--great term: Affirmative spelling error. Oh yes, I have plenty of those myself. LOL.)

(Oh, Lord...I just had to edit this post because I spelled affirmative wrong. Oops.)
