Norwich Posted June 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2016 If anyone has done self debarkation this past April/May on FOTS, would like to know if it went smoothly, how long it took you to complete debark and whether it is best to use the escalators or elevators (carrying three suitcases and a carry on). Thanks. L.
SthrnCruiser Posted June 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2016 (edited) We just did this 2 days ago. It went very smooth. Since we didn't have a flight to catch, we took our time. We left our stateroom around 8:30am. Took the elevators to deck 4. Wasn't too long of a wait on the elevator. Once on deck 4, we got in line and it pretty much moved with very very little stopping. We were done and in our car by 9:15. There were 4 of us. We each had a piece of luggage at least. Mine had 2 attached. DS had a rolling duffle and 2 small bags attached. DD had one rolling suitcase and a drawstring bag. DH had his rolling garment bag and another attached to it. I don't recall any escalators. We took the elevators from our deck to the the gangway deck. Then it was all ramps down I believe. Edited June 7, 2016 by SthrnCruiser

Pitbull1130 Posted June 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2016 We starting doing about 6 years ago, we are long gone from the port and on the way home before most people get off. We had a piece of luggage that took us an hour to find and that was the last time we didn't carry off.
taketwo Posted June 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2016 We did in May. Had a long drive ahead of us so wanted to be one of the first off the ship. We got in line at 6 am. Took elevator to deck 4. Right at 645 we were allowed to disembark and got through customs very quickly. Very happy with how fast we got off ship. (Just in case you want to sleep an extra hour. ) Thanks BillOh. Tempted to go with early departure but should their be a delay in docking, customs and travel to MCO we'll probably stay with self-debark. L.
