Can you get off the ship in San Juan the day of embarkation

Recommended Posts

Hi! I have clients that want to board the ship and get checked in and stuff and then go off and explore San Juan. Can you leave on embarkation day and get back on or is it once you are on you are on?

You can leave after check-in and boarding. We've done it several times.

I agree with Clarea, you can get on and off the ship once you check in. Bear in mind though that the embarkation port in San Juan (Pan American) is not the one located in Old San Juan. If you want to explore the city, you would need to take a taxi to and from that port.

also if they are going into Old San Juan and it is early, there is a free[yes free] on and off shuttle that will take you up to the forts,'It is located by the docks in OSJ.you can take the shuttle up and on the way back get off in the middle of OSJ.and do a little walking around. Then you would have to take a cab back to PanAm pier. You can get the cab by the OSJ dock.
