Caribbean Sunset Posted June 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2016 How far in advance should you book a cruise to Alaska and are there better incentives at certain times? We are planning on going in July 2017 , we want to do the northern bound out of Vancouver. Thanks for any suggestions.
paul929207 Posted June 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2016 The cruise is unlikely to sell out way in advance, so you can wait. But remember, each day the choice cabins get taken. If you have particular needs like handicapped or multiple cabins together, these can become difficult to find. If you have FCC's for your bookings, I would go ahead and book
bagney Posted June 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2016 Agree with Paul. We booked the Northbound cruise from Vancouver for July 2017 a couple months ago so as to get the desired cabins we wanted as we needed 5 cabins together for my family. If by chance Princess offers a sale/promotion, we can decide then if it is worth it but at this time, we are not booked under any special promotions but booked early to get our desired cabins. Kamloops50 Posted June 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2016 We usually book about 8 months in advance . This was usually due to work schedule. Now we book closer in to the shoulder season (May, June and Sept).
brcruiser Posted June 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 7, 2016 If you plan on doing a cruisetour, we booked a year in advance and some tours were full. We did a connoisseur land tour that was limited in space.
Stevi Posted June 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 7, 2016 We booked our Handicapped Accessible Mini Suite for Aug 2017, last month. There were only 4 on the ship and one was already taken. We chose to book when we did to ensure we got the room we wanted.
CATGUY7 Posted June 8, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 8, 2016 We used Future Cruise Credits to book our Alaska cruise for June 2017 in January. I love knowing I was able to pick the cabin we wanted.
jeffbrig Posted June 8, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2016 If you're not seeking a specific cabin, you can certainly wait. For my upcoming Alaska trip, we only booked the week before final payment was due (about 3 months out). Still got the mini suite we wanted in a good location.
