tnshsms Posted June 15, 2016 #26 Share Posted June 15, 2016 Thanks! I would consider public transportation for my family, but my mom and possibly aunt will be flying in on their own and can't handle that as well.
ATLgirl15 Posted June 17, 2016 #27 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We were happy with dial 7. Used then from Ewr to the port and then from he port into Manhattan to extend our vacation. Will probably use them again to LGA tomorrow.
Fishkillbill Posted June 17, 2016 #28 Share Posted June 17, 2016 We will be coming down from upstate New York in a Hertz rental car. I figured the best thing will be to drop it off at EWR. Can we get a cab from Hertz? Or do we have to go to terminal? If to a terminal, witch one would be closet to the port? Or do the cabs charge a flat rate? Why don't you call Hertz in Newark and ask them what they suggest about getting a cab? Chances are you will have to go back to a terminal, but you never know. Maybe they have a relationship with a cab company you can call as you're arriving. It should be a flat fare of about $55 plus tolls and tip. It is not a metered ride. Fishkillbill Posted June 17, 2016 #30 Share Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) I see you can get a 10% Senior Citizen discount on a cab from EWR and Cape Liberty. http://www.panynj.gov/airports/ewr-taxi-car-van-service.html Edited June 17, 2016 by Fishkillbill

ATLgirl15 Posted June 19, 2016 #33 Share Posted June 19, 2016 Fishkillbill, if you book a car service they can pick you up at Hertz and dragging back to the terminal for a taxi. We just did this last week from Avis which is right next door to Hertz. It took some phone communication with driver to clarify but it was pretty convenient.
