For the review and the photos! Glad you had a fantastic time! Nice to see all the "goodies" RCL provided for you in your stateroom, a wonderful gesture for your cruise! Also some of those gifts looked very nice!.....K.O.:) Edited by Thetrail

My room for the first two cruises was a Central Park balcony on deck 11. Just aft of the centre of the ship.

The room style was very similar to Anthem/quantum class with dark wood, wardrobes either side of the bed.

Next to the desk there was USA, Euro sockets and 2 USB ports and also another USA socket next to the bed which I think will please those who need medical appliances plugged in at night.

The balcony had two part reclining chairs and a very large table, unlike external balconies which have the traditional wooden drinks style table.. (Pic of that on day 8)

I dropped my hand luggage off and had a quick chat with the room steward and headed up to meet the group of about 18 people I was going to do the tour of the ship with.

Back in Solarium for the meeting point/start point and the heavens opened up..

The solarium seems a lot more open and most of the area got drenched through the big air gaps in the roof.

We have a Central Park balcony on the TA can I ask what cabin number you were in and how was staying in that area? We usually get an ocean view balcony but thought 9 days we preferred some other view.

Thanks

DeeDee

I was in 11641 looking out over the roof of the rising tide bar.

I think deck 11 is good as its midway between the park and the upper deck..

Was nice to sit on the balcony but does feel exposed compared to an external sea facing balcony. (I.e. Making sure you close the curtains before getting changed! )

I thought the WoW bands were a complete waste of time. No where seemed to be set up to take them. You were forever having to take them off! Was far easier to just hand over your card. I believe on anthem etc it's set up so its a lot more user friendly but they just haven't thought it through on harmony.

On Anthem I tended to use the wow band to open the door and that was about it lol

Can you tell me if the balcony partitions open in the Central Park cabins? We have the cabin next to my sister.

Thank you

DeeDee

Yes, the partitions can be opened, subject to the approval of ship's management.

Really? I used mine on Quantum everywhere. Bars, roaming waiters/bartenders, casino, dining room, opening door to room, etc. I never needed to carry my Seapass other than to get off the ship.

Problem is half the places that you use the. The tills and readers are on the back bar so you can't just hold your wrist against the pad. I assume that on quantum the waiters had hand held machines to read them?? On harmony you had to take them off for them to take them away and scan.

what a fantastic review! Thank you for taking the time to do it! Our Harmony cruise is not until January and your review has taught us so much.

Can I ask, did you ride the Abyss slide? On the safety information for it, it says no lose articles and no phones/cameras etc. Do you know if they make you empty your pockets to ride and then go back up the 10 stories to collect your stuff after you slide? I was hoping to be able to use the slide to go down the 10 stories and then carry on, on my merry way and not have to go back up and collect my belongings

There is nowhere to leave your stuff at the top. Either take someone with you who is not going to slide or leave the camera and the like in your cabin and get it after.

thanks for your reply. Do they make you empty your pockets? Could I keep my seapass card and phone in my pockets and go on it? I don't intend to be taking any pictures on the slide, I just want the convenience of having it with me

I'm sure it would be fine. The "ride" is not rough at all.

In so excited about this cruise. Been trying to get other friends on board. She wondered if it could snow up there in Mid October? I said I didn't think so but thought I would ask here in case other have better knowledge. I've read that fog is normally heavy in the mornings.
