Barcelona-how far from port to downtown

I would assume the normal port from where you can take the port shuttle for a few €.

Walking is not a good plan, save your legs and time for walking the city. The shuttle drops/collects you a few minutes walk from the start of Las Ramblas.

yes, the port is quite large and it took the bus at least 10 minutes of driving (on overpasses etc) to get to the first port terminal from the start of the port.

anyway, the interport bus costs 2E and the bus stop is on an inner roadway near the Columbus monument which is at the Drassanes end of Las Ramblas.

realise that your question is asking about walking from terminal to city centre.....would advise taking the interport bus to the Drassanes end of Las Ramblas. you could then stroll this famous street to a more central part of Barcelona or go to the Drassanes metro station and go to visit La Sagrada etc.
