toras Posted June 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 15, 2016 I took notes and pictures of some of the menus and the dishes on our May 26, 2016 cruise on the Granduer. Some days I didn't bring the phone to dinner so only took pictures from the interactive screens outside the dining room. Sorry it's incomplete. Day 1 Dinner: Asian seafood coconut soup - good but a little light. Tortillas - good but portion small: Salmon - not so good, a little too fishy. Horseradish flavour not pronounced: Beef Striploin - good, not tough as some reported. Desserts: None of them really caught my fancy so had the BBB Creme Brulee. The whole thing was too ice cold to be enjoyable.
toras Posted June 15, 2016 Author #2 Share Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) Day 2: Bay Scallops - served like escargots. Mine came barely lukewarm, scallops were really tiny. Shrimp Ravioli - 5 pieces. The ravioli dough was too heavy, I only ate the part with the filling. Dessert: Chocolate souffle - not rich enough. Day 3: Didn't eat there that night Day 4: Turkey roulade - turkey meat rolled around stuffing, 2 slices. Delicious Sea bass and shrimp - good Dessert: Forget what this was called but it was nice: Edited June 15, 2016 by toras

toras Posted June 15, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted June 15, 2016 Sorry, nothing from days 5,6,8 Day 7: Shrimp - delicious but again portion too small Day 9: Seafood mash - delicious except for the imitation scallop! Leg of lamb - declicious and generous portion: Dessert: Something Pear William - chocolate sauce overhelmed the pear flavour. (looks exactly like the dessert shown for day 4). toras Posted June 15, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted June 15, 2016 Park cafe: Beef Weck sandwich good - but seems to be not as good as on Oasis (not my opinion since I don't eat beef). I didn't know you can ask for beef only, without the bread. The turkey salad is a few small strips of cold cut turkey with a handful of greens. You can get bag of chips. At night they serve hot dogs and nachos with cheese sauce, you can add onions and tomatoes. Also cookies and desserts. One note about the Solarium - the whole place stank of old plastic plants. The smell is not as bad if the windows on the deck above are opened.

Kdelong Posted June 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2016 Portions to small? Order another and another, it's allowed. Our server would bring us seconds without even asking if we really enjoyed something.
toras Posted June 17, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted June 17, 2016 Luckily on the nights that I found the portions I wasn't that hungry. One night I ordered 2 entrees cause I couldn't decide. One dish was the pad Thai which was quite far from authentic but was still ok. On formal night, we asked our waiter for more lobster. He brought out one more lobster entree. I saw other waiters bringing out a plate of tails for the table. Got the feeling that our waiter doesn't like asking the kitchen for extra stuff.
