Hotels near port of Miami?

My husband and I are going on the Carnival Valor 5/14/2006. We plan on flying down on the 13th, and we need a hotel to stay in that night. We would like something near the port so we don't have too far to travel. We also dont want to pay an arm and a leg... any recommendations? Thanks!

We sailed Valor 4/05 and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Bayside Marketplace which is right across the street from Bayside Marketplace and very close to the pier. I think the cab fare was $5pp to the port. The hotel was very nice and Walgreens was within walking distance to pick up a few last minute things.
