Balcony Rooms Under Lido Deck or Spa Rooms

How bad are the rooms under Lido deck?

We have committed to going on a cruise with the in-laws. They chose the cruise they want to go on (8 day Magic with 3 ports). Unfortunately, this cruise is just about sold out and just about the only adjacent balcony rooms I can find are under lido deck.

How early do they start putting out chairs? Has this been an issue for you? Are you a light sleeper? I always use ear plugs anyway even when staying in an interior - if you used them, did they work for these rooms?

There are also a few spa balconies left - would like to hear if you have stayed in these and enjoyed them. I've just read the benefits of these rooms, and think that some of these would actually be a great thing for the in-laws to take advantage of (oh, and me too), especially considering that we would have 4 sea days on this cruise.

I have stayed under lido once and would never do it again. They clean the decks in the middle of the night and you hear them dragging chairs in the middle of the night. It was terrible. Would never book under again. Did not have earplugs so can't answer as to whether this would have helped or not.

We LOVE the spa balconies and book them whenever possible. Sometimes they are under the gym. Be careful of those rooms as they can be loud in the early mornings. We are booked in one under the waiting room and hoping that will be quiet. We have enjoyed the spas and find we used them everyday.

I am booked in my first wrap around on the Magic. It's on Vista deck right below the adults only aft pool. I am hoping that it doesn't get too loud - I've heard people say it's usually only a little scraping early in the morning and I'm an early riser.

I wouldn't have necessarily chosen this cabin except it was a really great deal (casino) and I've always wanted an aft wrap. Oh well, I'm sure I will enjoy the balcony more than I'll be disturbed by noise (at least I hope so).

I would book the spa balcony, especially with that many sea days. We stayed in a spa cabin on the Magic in 2012 and it was great. Maybe a little bouncy on the day of rough seas, but overall a great location with great amenities.

The Deck 10 Tides pool on Vista is not adult's only, is it?

Stayed under Lido once and found the chair scraping and running, etc at night to be so annoying. I now use a white noise app on my phone when we cruise and I bet it would offset the lido noise some if I used it. So if I had to go under lido again, I would. But only if there was no other good option.

Thanks for the responses. I hadn't considered the fact that the spa cabins could be underneath the gym - glad that was noted.

I'm less worried about my room than I am about the in-laws - want to be sure they don't get stuck in a bad spot.

I may have that wrong - I was told it was just like the Tides pool on the Breeze which is suppose to be adults only - however, the last cruise on Breeze it was during Spring Break and there were always kids in the aft pool - probably because it was so crowded at the main pool. Prior to that cruise there were never kids in the Tides pool. So, having not been on the Magic I'm not sure.

I had an aft extended balcony on deck 9 on the Breeze (right under Lido) and heard nothing coming from at least the aft pool. Not sure if it's the same under the *Lido* lido

I'm very happy to hear this. I don't normally spend alot of time in my cabin - but with the wrap balcony (cabin 9472) I'm thinking I will be out there alot. I love to relax and read on the balcony when things start getting a little hectic on Lido and considering this cruise will be in the summer, I'm assuming alot more little kiddies will be onboard. Actually, the little guys never bother me - it's those tweens and teens that can be a little too much.
