Bahamas Jan, Feb or March,

October cruise was cancelled due to Hurricaine. We are re-scheduling for Jan-Feb or March. Any suggestions on the best month? We want to snorkel in the Bahamas and enjoy the water at Cococay.

Tami: Well of the three, March is the warmest of course. I think the water will be rather cool in all three of those months but the sun will be warmest in March.

BobK, is it safe to guess that it will be even warmer in April? I'm used to the Pacific Ocean, which isn't ever very warm....so the water in the Bahamas will probably feel great to me any time of the year, but I'm still curious. :)

gumballz, April is definitely warmer. March and April are when the "yankees" from up north flock south for Spring Break....to Florida and the Bahamas. So temps in the 70's & 80's are increasingly common the later into the year you go. March is better than February, April better than March.

 

You're right about the Pacific; the Atlantic waters around the Bahamas never get that cold.
