Will a Brita Pitcher Fit in the Cabin Refrigerator

In light of the new beverage policy and the fact that my husband and I don't drink Pepsi products, can anyone tell me whether we could bring a Brita water pitcher on board? Will a normal half gallon pitcher fit in the cabin refrigerator; can anyone tell me? That would allow us to have cold water while in our cabin. Thanks.

Can't speak for all ships, but on the breakaway, if you took out the minibar stuff and a shelf, yes it would. For convenience we went with Brita bottles with removeable filters (since you don't need filters on ship), and just kept 2 in there and used the other 2 then rotated.

Not sure how big it is, but when I cruise (been on the Star, Pearl, Jewell and Dawn) I have them empty the mini bar and they put 1 pitcher of ice water and one of iced tea and they fit with no issues. The pitchers are probably about 10 to 12 inches tall.

Thanks both of you!! I would prefer to fill the fridge with Diet Coke but we sail two days after the stupid policy goes into effect. At least we will have some cold water when we are thirsty while in the cabin.

BA's mini refrigerator is rather small, here are the pictures with the small shelf taken out, just enough room for the slim ice bucket to go inside. The "full size plate" won't fit, dessert sized plate would, however.

The space-saver and compact pitcher (5 cups) will fit inside, with space for other items vertically. We kept the slim ice bucket, 2 Rubbermaid 20 oz. water bottles, plus other items inside during the cruise.

The Brita bottles with the removable filter, as suggested, will leave more space for other items.

Wait til they start telling you that you can't use the refrigerator for personal items and fill it full of "for sale" items like a lot of the hotels in Las Vegas are starting to do. If you want to use the fridge for personal items, you have to pay X number of dollars per day.

We travel with an Everydrop filter and just fill up bottles or glasses as we go. It takes up much less space than a pitcher (though, I suppose that you can't chill as much at once, if that is your goal).

Hush ... let's not give NCL more ideas, although I'm sure it's probably on their bucket list to push that out, step-by-step, death by a thousand cuts style - after their latest move.

Casino hotels in CT had been doing that for years now, they remotely lock & unlock it for guest use.

BreakAway's mini refrigerator can be locked (via Room Steward's key, not sure if they can do it remotely) & they do it on the evening before disembarkation once final inventory is done on any & all mini-bar usage for accounting & billing to the guest's Onboard account.

Sin City, we don't get charged for use as our host put in a note & request one prior to our arrival for usage at no charge for keeping medication. ;)

But, I agree with you - the bean counters got a lot more tricks up their sleeves and shown no signs of aiming for customer friendly gestures, everything disguised in the name of "for our convenience" and for our safety. NOT.
