toryandrew Posted July 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Hi, new cruiser going on the NCL Dawn on Friday the July 8th with one adult and three kids 8, 11, 13. I have some questions I hope people can answer, thank you in advance, truly: -Regarding lounges (trivia, bingo, game shows, live music) can kids go to those? My 8 year old loves watching karaoke, but is this considered a bar? -I'm a cheapskate, I put all four of us in a guarantee oceanview, I can't see how four people could ever fit, how does that work? -How much do I have to accompany these kids? They are mature nd well-behaved and trustworthy, can they just take themselves to activities? -How expensive are the bingo and game show cards? -How strict are age things, like my 11 year old loves dodgeball but its 13-17 -Are there kids menus in the main dining rooms? -Is the $7.95 room service for the WHOLE order or for each dish? -Can you put stuff in the fridge? THANK YOU
wdwfamily Posted July 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 5, 2016 -Regarding lounges (trivia, bingo, game shows, live music) can kids go to those? My 8 year old loves watching karaoke, but is this considered a bar? Our kids have gone to bingo, shows and most music venues. Can't answer about Karaoke as we never go. -I'm a cheapskate, I put all four of us in a guarantee oceanview, I can't see how four people could ever fit, how does that work? We have never done this with adults in the mis but we have done it with our kids. In the room they had, there were beds that came down from the ceiling. -How much do I have to accompany these kids? They are mature nd well-behaved and trustworthy, can they just take themselves to activities? Your choice. Our kids bring themselves too and from activities. -How expensive are the bingo and game show cards? Don't remember off the top of my head. -How strict are age things, like my 11 year old loves dodgeball but its 13-17 There weren't many kids on the Dawn the last time we sailed so the ages groups were very mixed. Not sure what they would do if they are a full ship with kids. -Are there kids menus in the main dining rooms? Yes. But they can order off the regular menu as well. -Is the $7.95 room service for the WHOLE order or for each dish? Per order, not per item. -Can you put stuff in the fridge? Yes. We typically ask the room steward to remove the alcohol and soda to make room for our stuff.
Sauer-kraut Posted July 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted July 5, 2016 You might want to set some ground rules for the kids, no going into other people's cabins etc. You will get some good ideas over on the Family Cruising board under Specialty Cruising.
