Maybe we will be staying close to Airport. Was wandering how easy is it to get to the water taxi for a day of visiting the day before are cruise out of Miami. Is it easy to book a shuttle for Saturday from hotel in Ft. Lauderdale? When should I do it? We are going on our first cruise on the Escape in November!

http://www.sunny.org has lots of FLL area tourist and hotel info.

Depending upon when in Nov, rates should be reasonable -- unless your budget demands it I would choose to stay in the downtown/17th street area, with lots of hotels and dining options to choose from.

Skip the shuttles - taxi or Uber are cheap and easy.

Uber to/from water taxi is your best bet for transport.

SAS shuttle from hotel to Port Miami is a popular service on CC (book online in advance and you'll see if your hotel is on their pickup list...if not just get a ride to one that is)...usually runs $15pp.

Is there a reason you decided to stay near the airport? Cab fare in and out of the city/beach area will run you $30. Considering you are looking at a slower weekend and I see the rates are lower, I'd just choose something on 17th st minutes from the port, restaurants, shopping and sun trolley to bop around the city.

I totally agree.

You may want to check out the rates at the Hilton Marina as the water taxi actually stops there.
