Malta

First of all, make sure you're up and on deck for the sail into Valetta. It's an absolutely beautiful sail in, or out if you prefer. I would highly suggest a tour of the town of Mdina, also known as the silent city. It's a walking tour and very much worth your time. There is also a glass blowing factory that's very interesting. Their products are things you won't find anywhere else. As an aside, it's where most of the movie Gladiator was filmed.

We visited Malta in June/04 and had a great tour - went to the Marsaxlokk fishing village (pretty, but smelly), then a winery tour and a stop at the Murano Glass Factory. Wished we'd bought more pieces of glass. Here's a pic we took of the fishing village - it's my favorite cruise picture from that trip.

Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)
